So far I've obtained or been able to purchase: A knife, throwing knives, 6 different versions of a revolver, 2 shotguns, 3 submachine guns, an AK47, a BB-gun on crack and 2 type of pipebombs. Speaking of guns though, there are plenty of guns and other weapons in the game. I can shoot a guy in the back of the head with my silenced pistol and he just gets angry, but hit him in the ass with a throwing knife and he drops dead. I also don't find it to be in terribly short supply just yet. They have a excuse though, ammo due to the whole apocalypse thing is being made in less than optimal conditions, and pre-apcolypse ammo is apparently much more powerful, though I haven't tried it myself. Guns as others have said, feel quite underpowered. Makes me wonder if they are in a roundabout way, implying that its the same world as Stalker. A character mentioned that people who spend a lot of time exploring the surface are called Stalker, and also referenced anomalies. The game has however, referenced Stalker twice now. The game looks like Fallout 3 but has atmosphere by the bucketload, much like Bioshock, about all it and Stalker has in common are they both take place in Russia and have mutants. This is more like a cross between Fallout 3 and Bioshock than anything else really. That said I am, so far, enjoying it quite a bit. I picked it up as well hoping for a STALKER like game.Īnd it really isn't, at least not by a couple hours in.
